The 2021 NBA All-Star game was certainly an interesting experience. For the first time in league history, the dunk contest, three-point shootout, and All-Star game all took place on the same night, and it really gave the whole night a different feel than it has in years past.
Of course, it also means that this year has brought forth many new controversies, with many feeling as though the night did not live up to its true potential.
Nevertheless, it was an exciting time for NBA fans, and Twitter was aburst with reactions all night.
Following the three-point contest, which saw Curry drop a total of 59 points, the basketball community was coping with the reminder of just how good the guy is at shooting the ball.
It's no secret that the NBA had trouble recruiting players to participate in this year's SLAM Dunk contest. This year saw a lot of lower-profile players compete, such as Anfernee Simons, Obi Toppin, and Cassius Stanley. Simons ended up winning in the end, but the event's unusually short length, absence of fans, and lack of star power really hurt the impression it left on the people.
The final act of the night was the actual All-Star game, which was undeniably entertaining. Between Giannis, Steph, Irving, and Beal, there were plenty of big performers and a whole lot to talk about.
It was all capped with a game-winner from Dame DOLLA, who led Team LeBron to the 170-150 win.
