Isaiah Thomas is a former All-Star most known for his time with the Boston Celtics. He was an elite offensive point guard in his prime, averaging 28.9 PPG in his last year on the Boston Celtics.

Despite his former excellence, many teams passed on signing Isaiah Thomas during the last free agency period. It seems as though that has changed. Shams Charania of The Athletic has recently revealed that Isaiah Thomas will be signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This won't be Isaiah Thomas' first time with the Los Angeles Lakers, as he played for the team during the 2017-18 season after getting traded there from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played 17 games for the franchise, averaging 15.6 PPG in that span.

The Los Angeles Lakers will likely give Isaiah Thomas limited playing time, but he could definitely be a great player in a bench-scoring role. He dominated in his G-League debut, and that suggests that he will at least be passable in the NBA.

We'll see how this signing impacts the Los Angeles Lakers in the future, but it could potentially be a low-risk high-reward move. It is good to see Isaiah Thomas get another chance in the league, and perhaps he will be able to sign a full NBA contract at the end of his 10-day contract.
