The 2020 NBA Season is almost upon us and most NBA teams currently have their rosters set, but it seems the rumors are really starting to ramp up. With players going down to injuries and players still looking to make trades to put them over the hump, teams are still being very active as we prepare for 8 months of NBA basketball.
For the fans out there that cannot keep up with all of the NBA rumors, we got you covered.
Dwight Howard In LA?
With the terrible news of DeMarcus Cousins tearing his ACL, the Lakers have been in search of a center as the team currently only has JaVale McGee to play the position. Dwight Howard is the center that the Lakers have been looking at to replace DeMarcus Cousins.
As stated by Shams Charania, “The Grizzlies are granting the Los Angeles Lakers permission to speak with Dwight Howard, league sources tell the Athletic”.
It is currently unknown how the Lakers would acquire Dwight as he is currently on the Grizzlies roster but a buyout looks to be coming soon for him.
DeMar DeRozan Trade Rumors
With LaMarcus Aldridge aging and with Gregg Popovich nearing the end of his illustrious NBA coaching career, it seems as if the San Antonio Spurs are headed towards a rebuild. With the overabundance of young talent on the team, it seems as if they will look to trade a couple of the veterans on their team.
DeMar DeRozan is a name that has come up in trade rumors as of recent. Last year for the San Antonio Spurs, DeMar DeRozan averaged 21.2 points, 6 rebounds and 6.2 assists. Though these look to be great numbers, he shot a dreadful 15.6% from the three-point line and was a below-average defender.
As stated by Khris Johnson, “The Pistons, Bulls and Magic have spoken with the Spurs about a trade for DeMar DeRozan, according to a source”.
With the youth movement occurring in San Antonio and with DeMar set to become a free agent at the end of next season, it is safe to say that DeMar’s current stint on the Spurs will soon come to an end.

Carmelo Anthony Was Seen Working Out With Brooklyn Nets Players
10-Time All-Star and free agent Carmelo Anthony last week was spotted participating in workouts in Los Angeles with Brooklyn Nets players, as stated by Ian Begley and Anthony Puccio.
Carmelo Anthony’s free agency has been a topic of discussion throughout this NBA offseason and the discussions only escalated when Carmelo Anthony had an interview with Stephen A. Smith.
In the interview, Carmelo Anthony brought light to his situation stating “he just wants to play basketball” and bringing up the point in that with each of the 30 teams having 15 roster spots, it is crazy that he cannot make one of them. With the news of the workouts came the question as to whether or not the Nets should sign Carmelo Anthony.
Looking at the current structure of their bench for this upcoming season, it is pretty much set with Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan, Dzanan Musa, Rodions Kurucs, and Garrett Temple. Not to mention the young talent sprinkled in there in recently drafted players such as Jaylen Hands, Mifondu Kabengele, and Nicolas Claxton.
The Nets are a team that has created an identity off of ball movement and with Carmelo Anthony being known as a Ball Stopper and someone who doesn’t bring much to a team other than scoring, it seems as if he doesn’t have a place on the Nets.
Danilo Gallinari Trade Rumors
Danilo Gallinari is a name that has popped up a lot in trade rumors as of recent. Gallinari was traded to the Thunder alongside Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and a plethora of picks in exchange for Paul George. Last year for the Clippers, Danilo averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds in 46.3% from the field and 43.3% from the three-point line.
The three teams that have been connected to Gallo are the Sixers, Celtics, and Knicks. With the Sixers and Celtics, Gallo is a player that can provide shooting and scoring for you and help you as you try to compete for a championship. For the Knicks, Gallo is a guy who can help you make the playoffs if they are in a position to do so. With the Thunder in rebuild mode and with Danilo in the last year of his contract, it is very likely that Danilo’s stay in Oklahoma will be a short one.
Kyle Kuzma To Possibly Play Center This Season
With DeMarcus Cousins suffering an ACL tear, the Lakers currently only have one center on the roster. The Lakers have been looking for someone to replace Boogie but what if that someone is currently on the roster? Gregg Popovich has been playing Kyle Kuzma at the center position in Team USA practices and when asked about the possibility of playing center next season, Kuzma said: “If Vogel wants to do that, that’s what I’ve got to do.”
Last season for the Lakers Kuzma played a little bit of center, but the results were not pretty. They had allowed 111.6 points per 100 possessions, but with an all-time defender in Anthony Davis playing alongside Kuzma, those numbers could be very different.
