The Philadelphia 76ers Have No Idea What To Do With Markelle Fultz

It's been a wild ride for the Sixers and their 2017 #1 overall pick Markelle Fultz.

When they first drafted him, they imagined him as an essential part of the future "big-three." Clearly, things didn't work out as they had hoped. After shooting struggles and questions about his future, some reports claim the team is ready to move on. Though, in reality, the team doesn't really know what to do with him right now.

Examinations of Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz's right shoulder will extend through Wednesday in New York and no decision on his next steps is expected until later in the week, league sources told ESPN.

Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, has lost the ability to carry out and follow through on long jump shots, and there's been internal and external debate about how much of this perplexing circumstance is physical vs. mental.

Apparently, the organization isn't on the same page.

This certainly could be a physical issue, as we saw reports last week pointing to a cryptic motor-bike accident. Then, of course, there are the following reports, which denies that the doctors Fultz has seen over the course of the last week have seen any physical issue.

The team reportedly has been taking calls for Fultz, but haven't really been close to a deal.

Whatever the case, the Sixers have to make a move fast. The more this situation gets carried out, the longer it lingers in the locker room. And for what has been a largely successful season, the team no doubt wants to change the narrative in that regard.
