Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan dominated basketball from start to finish of their careers. They were not just one of the most talented players to ever set foot on an NBA hardwood but they were also tight friends who often hung out between seasons.
That bond became closer during the 1992 Olympics, where they had to coexist for over a month with Team USA's Dream Team. However, almost 30 years later, they barely share a word.
The reason? Barkley claims Jordan is mad at him because of his criticism of the way he's handled his basketball operations with the Charlotte Hornets. According to Chuck, Jordan didn't take his words lightly and up to this day, he still hasn't forgiven him.
Barkley claimed that Jordan surrounded himself of many 'Yes men' that were into it just for the perks of being close to Michael Jordan so that obviously was going to take a bit of a hit on his judgment to do the right thing for his franchise.
And even though he recently claimed that he misses Michael and will love him forever, Charles doesn't hold any kind of hard feelings towards him for ending the friendship:
"Well, I think that's what made him the GOAT. He takes everything personally. It was an honor and a privilege to compete against him. Like I've said, no disrespect to Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain. The best I've ever seen in my life was Michael Jordan," Barkley told ESPN.
Barkley discussed how competitive Jordan was on every single thing he did from cards to basketball, claiming you didn't want to lose to him because you'd hear about it every day for the rest of your life.
That competitive spirit and drive were what made Jordan stand out from the rest of the pack and still be considered the greatest of all time up to this day.
