The Secret Plan: LeBron James And Kevin Durant Will Join Forces Next Season

Two of the greatest players the NBA has to offer will reportedly be joining forces for the 2018-19 NBA season.

Yep, you read that correctly. Both the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and the Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant will be teaming up to take on the rest of the NBA and fight for the Larry O'Brien trophy next season.

The two have only ever played together for Team USA, namely in the 2012 London Olympics, where the United States fought off all comers to claim gold. Other than that though, the two have never played on the same team, even during All-Star weekend, as Durant has played in the Western Conference his entire career, whereas LeBron has played in the East.

The teaming up of two of the greatest small forwards the NBA has ever seen is one of the most monumental moves to ever grace the NBA, with many pundits likening it to if Larry Bird and Magic Johnson joined forces in the 80's.

It's unknown which team exactly will be hosting the pair, but it's unlikely to be the Cavs or Warriors, who definitely don't have enough cap space to sign the two at the same time. One name that has popped up however is the Los Angeles Lakers, who come into the 2018 free agency period with enough cap space to sign both LeBron and KD, but only if they let up-and-coming power forward Julius Randle walk, or somehow work a deal to get rid of Luol Deng's contract.

Whatever the case, whatever team is lucky enough to land both superstars will be title favorites for the considerable future.
