The NBA has seen a series of moves since the season ended in June. Russell Westbrook is in Houston, Paul George and Kawhi are teammates on the Clippers, and Kevin Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
But perhaps the domino that started it all was Anthony Davis becoming a Laker. Today, he had his opening press conference with the team, and all eyes were set on him and the hopeful franchise as they talked about his path both ahead and behind.
One of the more captivating stories was regarding how he found out about the trade, which he apparently had to look up on Instagram.
After being in a movie and ignoring calls from his agent several times, Davis finally called back only to be sent to voicemail. The 6x All-Star took matters into his own hands, checking Instagram to discover the news that he had been traded to the Lakers.
What a way to start your era in Lakerland.
This season, AD will join LeBron James in chasing the team's first Championship since 2010, and the first of Davis' career. Last season for the Pelicans, he averaged 25.9 points per game, 12 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks on 51% shooting.
