Another season, another milestone passed for the King.

In Wednesday night's victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, James became the fourth player in NBA history, and the youngest, to score 33,000 career points, joining Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Karl Malone.

Interestingly enough, all 4 of the NBA's highest scorers have all been Lakers at some point in their career.

But for James, this milestone helps build his case for GOAT status. As a 15x All-Star, 3x NBA Champion, 4x NBA MVP, and 15x All-NBA Player, James has been in the conversation for the greatest for years. Unfortunately, his Finals losses (he's 3-5) and his first season in Los Angeles (where he failed to even make the playoffs) became the biggest criticisms of his 16-year career.

Being among the top four scorers ever certainly helps make a case for James. It may be just one of many things he will have accomplished by the end of this season alone. In the midst of one of his best seasons as a pro, at 34-years-old, LeBron has the Lakers soaring through the early part of the season with a 16-2 record and a first-place standing in the West.

Will he add another Championship to his 5-star resume?
