Trade Speculation Heats Up After DeMar DeRozan Mysteriously Clears Social Media

In the midst of their worst stretch of basketball in years, trade rumors regarding the Spurs have been ramping up the past couple of days. It is clearer now more than ever that the team is in no position to compete as presently constructed.

In the front of the trade rumors have been DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, who may be the first to go in the event the Spurs decide to blow it up.

Well, on Monday, speculation grew even further when it was discovered Demar DeRozan completely cleared his Instagram. Last time that happened, DeRozan was traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Spurs in the Kawhi Leonard blockbuster trade.

San Antonio is just 6-11 on the season entering Monday after initially getting off to a hot start. DeRozan is doing well, putting up 22.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game on the season. He’s shooting 53.0 percent from the floor and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line. But there are questions about his fit with this team and his capabilities as a star.

He has yet to hit a 3-pointer this season and is due to make $27.7 million. He has a player option worth the same amount for the 2020-21 season.
