After several seasons as head coach of the Cavaliers, an NBA Championship, and a dramatic job interview with the Lakers, esteemed coach Tyronn Lue has returned to the sidelines.
In a report by Shams Charania, the 42-year-old coach will join the Clippers on a multi-year deal.
Interesting enough, Lue and Rivers have some history working together. He served as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics from 2011-12 to 2012-13 and the Clippers from 2013-14 until becoming the associate head coach in Cleveland starting in the 2014-15 campaign under David Blatt.
He most recently took on a role as a special "advisor" for the Clips around December of last season.
Lue will join Rivers, Jerry West, Ballmer, and Sam Cassell (among others) in an elite front-office and coaching staff.
Of course, their expectations have risen since the arrival of Kawhi and Paul George. All hands on deck will be needed to make things work, including Lue -- who has experience getting stars to work together.
