NBA legend Kobe Bryant left the world in a horrific helicopter crash back in 2020. But even today, it feels unreal and hard to believe that he is not among us. If this is the condition of fans, then no one can even imagine the Bryant family's pain.
However, tough situations help in revealing who your true friends are. In the case of Kobe's family, Pau Gasol and Rob Pelinka have fulfilled that role. Ever since the untimely death of Kobe, Gasol and Pelinka have always been there for the Bryant family on important occasions.
Speaking of important occasions, Halloween has just passed. Usually, most families dress up together and spend quality time together. To make sure that Vanessa Bryant and her daughters do not feel lonely during this occasion, Pau and Rob's families were there to support them.
An image posted by Vanessa on Instagram showed her family alongside Gasol's and Pelinka's.
This is truly a heartwarming picture and proves that we all deserve a friend like Pau in our lives. While it was great to see Rob and Pau stepping up, it once again made fans emotional.
Even when Bryant was there with us, Gasol played a big role in his life. It is a well-known fact that Kobe didn't used to get along with the majority of his teammates during his playing days.
But there are always exceptions, right? Pau Gasol was that exception. When Gasol was traded to the Lakers, the team was already a playoff contender. All they needed was a player to push them to the next level, being a title contender.
Adding him to the mix changed the fortunes for the purple and gold. The Bryant-Gasol duo won two consecutive NBA championships together. Although Kobe was still the leader of the team, he finally had a great second player since Shaquille O'Neal.
After winning two back-to-back NBA titles, the Lakers slowly started to lose their touch. Both age and injury played a big role in the downfall of the Lakers until recently, when LeBron James joined the team.
As for Gasol, he will forever hold a big sport in the hearts of Lakers fans as a great player and especially as someone who is taking care of Bryant's family after his passing away.
