Watching Gordon Hayward injure his knee in his first game for the Celtics last year was one of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire 2018 season. It would bring joy to every true basketball fan to see that Hayward is back up and running and set to make his long-awaited return to the NBA at the start of the upcoming season.
It looks as if Hayward is well on his way to recovery with footage of the Small Forward aggressively dunking showing the progress that he’s made so far.
Hayward can only improve from here, he’ll be hoping to make a full recovery before the Celtics first game of the 2018/2019 season.
Last season the Boston Celtics were just one win away from making the Finals due to Cleveland knocking them out in the Eastern Conference Finals. It may not have changed the result of the game or the series but the Celtics would have loved to have both Hayward and Kyrie running around the court when the club’s season was on the line.
With LeBron out of the East for the first time in his career, it leaves the door open for teams such as the Celtics to have a shot at going all the way in the East to make the 2019 Finals. If Hayward can return and return to his best, the Celtics have one of the best chances of winning the Eastern Conference Finals.
