NBA Analyst Perfectly Describes The Real Mess Between Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, And The Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are one of the most electric duos in the league, and there's no doubt that they are both offensively versatile players that can attack a defense in a variety of ways.

Recently, it was revealed that Kevin Durant's trade saga is officially over, as the superstar has elected to remain with the Brooklyn Nets after a meeting with Joe Tsai, Steve Nash, and Sean Marks.

It seems as though Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are gearing up for next season, as they have been spotted working out together in a recent video. There's no doubt that they are a championship-caliber duo when healthy, and perhaps we'll end up seeing them win a ring together next season.

The duo will be flanked by All-Star Ben Simmons, who is well-known for his defensive prowess. Some people envision Simmons playing a "Draymond Green" type role on the team, being the primary facilitator and defender.

Pitino, who coached the Knicks and Celtics in the NBA and now coaches Iona, believes Simmons, who missed all of last season due to issues relating to his back and mental health, can play a Draymond Green-type role with the Nets, who open training camp Sept. 27.

“Every team needs a Draymond Green and I think Simmons probably will serve that role,” he said. “He’s the play-maker, he’s the defensive player.”

It remains to be seen how well the Brooklyn Nets will do next year, but in theory, they have the talent to win it all. However, this year showed that chemistry will be important for the team as well, and hopefully, they are able to gel and become a contender next season.

There is no doubt that the competition to get to the Finals in the Eastern Conference will be tough. However, the Brooklyn Nets will clearly be one of the best teams in the conference, and if Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving play at a high level, they could easily represent the conference in the Finals.
