VIDEO: Kevin Durant Says 'That's Why I'm Out' After Altercation With Draymond

After Draymond Green failed to get Kevin Durant the ball in the closing seconds of regulation vs the Clippers there was an altercation between the 2 players. The Warriors had a few seconds left and Green decided to dribble the ball past half-court and run a play from there instead of giving the ball to Durant and let him create a shot.

The 2 players had a falling out after the game and things got very heated. Durant is a free agent next summer and many people think he will leave the Warriors and set up shop elsewhere. We know from multiple reports that Green went in on Durant by taunting him about his upcoming free-agency, presumably annoyed that Durant could leave the team.

What was initially missed however in the exchange between Green and Durant was just after when Durant was walking away. Durant appeared to say to himself “that’s why I’m out” after the altercation.

According to Marcus Thompson II of Athletic, Draymond Green let out his frustrations on Durant's FA:

Green lets out his frustrations on Durant's FA: "He reminded Durant the Warriors were winning before Durant showed up so he wouldn’t stand for Durant talking to him as if he were a scrub. Green accused Durant of making the whole season about him even though he was going to leave after this season"

In all likelihood, this will be the last season the Warriors have with Curry, Thompson, Durant and Green altogether. Durant and Klay Thompson are free agents next summer and both deserve at least $35 million a season. Draymond Green is a free agent the following summer, but he’s also the biggest headcase on the Warriors and the guy they could live without. My prediction is that they trade Draymond Green in the future and get some good lottery picks in return so they can try and keep Durant long term.

I don’t think it will work out though as my gut tells me Durant wants to move to another team like the Knicks of the Clippers and try and win something there. Given that the Warriors won’t have enough money to sign DeMarcus Cousins next summer it could be only Steph and Klay playing in the Bay Area next season.
