The New Orleans Pelicans are ready to show everybody around the league that they are a very capable team. They offloaded Anthony Davis this summer in exchange for a couple of young assets and draft picks from the Los Angeles Lakers, hoping to make some noise this upcoming season.
They drafted Zion Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, which has taken the Pelicans to be considered one of the potential animators of this next campaign. Besides Zion, New Orleans also counts with the young players they got from the Lakers, especially Lonzo Ball, who will probably enter the new season with a new and improved shooting form.
During the first day of the Pelicans training camp, the team released a footage in which we could see Lonzo showing off a new shooting form that is a drastic change from the unique style he presented us during his first couple of seasons in the league.
The prior version of his shooting form came from the left side of his body across to the right side before releasing, a shooting stroke that had mixed results for the point guard. Now, the Pelicans posted a video to their Twitter account showing a completely reworked shot that goes straight up and down.
After years of seeing his unique way to shoot the ball, Lonzo looks ready to introduce a new shot. Even if it’s just something he’s doing in practice right now, that’s a form we’ve never seen him use before.
