In the aftermath of yet another failed playoff run, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are entering a state of uncertainty as they attempt to figure out their next move.
Despite an impressive regular-season record, it has become clear that the Bucks need more if they want to succeed in the playoffs. If they're not in a better position by this time next year, it increases the likelihood that Giannis bolts in free-agency.
Still, not everyone is sold that he's going to leave at all, and former NBA All-Star Vince Carter is among the strongest voices in that camp...

“He needs a big-time scorer,” Carter said of Giannis Antetokounmpo. “He needs a go-to guy — a guy who can go get a bucket.
“I honestly really don’t foresee Giannis leaving,” Carter added. “I think it’s encouraging hearing what he’s hearing from the organization. I look at him like a Damian Lillard, who feels like he can win a championship there and that he’s good enough to where guys want to come play with him. (Milwaukee) is not the biggest market in the world, but I don’t think that matters. Guys will migrate to a good team, if need be.”
Damian Lillard is widely known for being loyal to his small-market franchise. He has always refused opportunities to team up with other stars and sign with other teams. He is committed to bringing a title to Portland.
As for Giannis, he has expressed a lot of those same values. In fact, in the moments following his team's elimination, he promised to stick around in Milwaukee for at least another year.
In today's era of player movement, it's not unusual for stars to demand a trade or link up to form powerful superteams elsewhere. Giannis could follow that trend next summer and maximize his chances of getting a ring.
But, win or lose next year, he might also stick around and, at least for now, there's nothing to indicate he won't.
I guess it's only a matter of time before we find out.
