Golden State Warriors guard Patrick McCaw suffered one of the scariest injuries seen on an NBA court this season on Saturday night.
After going up for a seemingly simple baseline layup, McCaw was accidentally undercut by veteran Vince Carter, altering McCaw's flight path in the air, leading to the second year player landing directly on his tailbone. The following scene was hard to digest, as McCaw rolled around on the floor in immense pain while everyone else watched on helpless, and the guard was eventually stretchered off the court and taken to the UC Davis Medical Center.
It was reported that McCaw briefly lost feeling in his lower body after impact, which is as scary as it sounds.
But good news followed as Patrick was later released on Sunday afternoon after an evaluation by specialistslitss.
The injury and subsequent scene was very similar to the injury former Spur T.J. Ford suffered, an injury that also momentarily paralyzed him and later forced him to retire from the NBA for good.
Thankfully for Patrick McCaw, that isn't the case, and the sophomore should be ready to go for the Warrior's first-round playoff matchup against whichever team happens to fall to seventh in the West after the regular season finishes up.
