DeMar DeRozan has been the best free-agent signing this year. DeRozan joined the Chicago Bulls during the offseason. And since the start of the season, he has rediscovered the sensational form he had during his time with the Toronto Raptors, and one can argue that he has been even better than he was during his Toronto days.
This form from DeRozan has not gone unnoticed. DeRozan was named as a starter in the upcoming 2022 NBA All-Star game last night. And the way he found out about his return to All-Star status was truly wonderful to see, as his teammates forged a special moment for him that he will always remember.
Zach LaVine broke the news of DeMar DeRozan being named an All-Star starter while they were with the rest of the squad on the Chicago Bulls team plane. LaVine used the PA system to make the announcement to the rest of the squad and encouraged them to applaud their star teammate.
DeRozan has re-emerged in the NBA as a superstar. He has been one of the best players in the league and is considered a strong candidate to win the MVP trophy this season, as his teammate Lonzo Ball has suggested. His form, along with the solid combination he has forged with Zach LaVine has allowed the Bulls to become one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
DeRozan has been truly incredible. And his chemistry with LaVine is great. In fact, the duo is the first in Chicago Bulls history since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to have 30+ points and 9+ assists in a single game. Clearly, LaVine and DeRozan have clicked very well. Perhaps LaVine will be joining DeRozan at the All-Star game this season, as his numbers justify his presence on the All-Star team this season.
