On Thursday the city of New York was treated to the matchup between the 2nd ranked Duke Blue Devils and the 12th ranked Texas Tech Raiders in Madison Square Garden. Duke won 69-58 in a great game that showed 2 great teams that will make some noise come to the NCAA tournament.

Zion Williamson again stole the show for the Blue Devils finishing with 17 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes of action along with some thunderous alley-oops in the first half. After the game naturally everyone wanted to talk to Williamson, and Zion provided some juicy information for us to think about.

“Forty-one games at the Garden, I mean, it would probably be incredible.”

“This is the Garden. A lot of greats have come through here. My favorite great to come through here was probably Bernard King because my stepdad talked about him a lot how he just put the ball in the basket. … I had to go watch his highlights. He could really score the basketball. He was incredible how he did it.”

“Playing 41 games here wouldn’t be so bad.”

Zion was clearly impressed by the aura of New York and he has the star power potential to fit the stature of Madison Square Garden. Only time will tell if New York fans get to enjoy him as much as he clearly enjoys them.
