Well, looks like the NBA trade season is officially upon us. January 15th marks the end of the bird-right exception that made some players ineligible to be traded.

As of today, Marcus Smart, Joe Harris, Zach LaVine, Rodney Hood, Nikola Jokic, Will Barton, Chris Paul, Clint Capela, Avery Bradley, Montrezl Harrell, Paul George, Jerami Grant, Aaron Gordon, Jusuf Nurkic, Davis Bertans, Bryn Forbes, Fred VanVleet, Derrick Favors, Raul Neto, and Dante Exum will all be trade eligible.

Only Hood and LaVine have the option of declining trade, but all players are expected to generate interest on the market. The Cavaliers, Celtics, Rockets, and Sixers are sure to be amongst those most interested, as they look to improve their depth before the postseason.

And because these group of guys are technically available now, expect the trade market to heat up big time in these next couple of weeks. Look out especially for names like Smart, Barton, and Favors to be moved.

No doubt, it'll be interesting to see who goes where and what team makes what decision as the trade deadline draws to a close.
