5 Best Buyout Candidates That Could Help The Warriors To Win The NBA Championship

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

The Golden State Warriors haven’t been their former dominant self as of late, mostly because their second unit hasn’t responded the way they used to during the first 4 years of the Steve Kerr era.

The Warriors thrive off their depth and their long rotation, but with Iguodala and Livingston aging and the lack of talent they feature right now, it seems like the defending Champions are going to have a tough time winning their three-peat.

Even so, there’s still a lot of time left in the season, and if they play their cards well, they can make some room for some buyout candidates that could lift them past their opposition. Today, we’ll let you know about those players.

5. JR Smith

JR Smith Houston NBA

JR Smith told the media he was hoping to be traded but so far, there have been no takers for the veteran swingman and his contract, and, considering his age, he better give up on the idea of being dealt.

Instead, he can just give up some money on the table and agree to be bought out and join the very same guys that beat him 3 out of the last 4 years. He’s a solid defender when focused, and a streaky shooter, like Nick Young.

4. Zach Randolph

Zach Randolph Kings

Zach Randolph is wasting the last years of his career on a Sacramento Kings team that’s stacked with frontcourt players and that’s thriving off their youth, and he still has a lot left in the tank.

He ’s one of the league’s best offensive rebounders, a consistent scorer and shooter and the kind of hard-nosed veteran they need when things get physical. Also, he’s a good passer and a perfect small-ball center for them.

3. Trevor Ariza

Trevor Ariza Wizards

Trevor Ariza has been one of the best 3 and D wings in the league for almost a decade now, and every team in the world would be grateful to have him now with such a shortage on that kind of players.

Ariza was supposed to help the Wizards turn their franchise around, but with Wall in the shelf, he’s now a prime buyout candidate that could perfectly fit the Warriors offense while also improving their defense.

2. Jamal Crawford

It took a while for Jamal Crawford to sign for a team but truth to be told, he’s looking like he’s still got a lot left on the tank, and he’d definitely fit the Warriors way of sharing the rock and pulling up from deep.

Crawford can flat out ball and score and he can still put defenders on skates so the Warriors would be wise to pick him up if he agrees to be bought out by the tanking Phoenix Suns in the next couple of weeks.

1. Robin Lopez

The Chicago Bulls didn’t move Robin Lopez when they had the chance to do it and now it looks like they’re pretty much stuck with him, as they’re trying to attach Jabari Parker to him on trade and nobody wants a part of his 20 million dollar deal.

With the young big men playing so well for the Chicago Bulls, there’s not much room for the veteran center, so he’s a prime buyout candidate, and the Warriors have already expressed their interest in him.
