7 Superstars The Golden State Warriors Can Land For The No. 2 Pick On NBA Draft Night

7 Superstars The Golden State Warriors Can Land For The No. 2 Pick On NBA Draft Night

There have been reports that the Golden State Warriors are going to shop their second overall pick to add a third superstar. This means that the Warriors are going all-in for next season, once Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson return from their injuries. Making the NBA Finals and dominating the league has become the norm for the Warriors, and they want to get back on top.

Luckily for the franchise, there are multiple teams that have star players who might be available. While some of these players are superstars and others All-Stars, they will immediately make a difference for the Golden State Warriors title chances next season. The best trade package the Warriors can send would be Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, No. 2 pick and Eric Paschall.

Here are the 7 best targets for the Golden State Warriors if they trade their second overall pick.

7. Zach LaVine

25.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.5 BPG

Zach LaVine

LaVine is a budding All-Star, and it is clear to see by his career year. Besides having his best scoring season, LaVine showed he has the personality to perform in big games and simply wants to win. Gone are the days where he was just a skinny kid who is a high-flying dunker, as he can now score 20-25 PPG with ease.

LaVine gives the Warriors a third shooter and scorer, along with someone who is Box Office. The Warriors want to win, but they want to play attractive basketball and LaVine would be a wonderful fit next to Stephen Curry. Threes, dunks, and athleticism would be the case in Oakland if the Warriors were to acquire him.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, No. 2 Pick, Eric Paschall

6. Rudy Gobert

15.1 PPG, 13.5 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.8 SPG, 2.0 BPG

Rudy Gobert Gives An Update On His Condition

The Warriors might want to have the best inside and outside game in the league, so grabbing Rudy Gobert would give them just that. Gobert isn't a dominant post scorer, but he is arguably the best defensive center in the league. His length and size also mean he attracts attention on offense because he can clean up misses and finish layups too.

What Gobert brings to the Warriors is what Draymond Green brings, albeit in a much larger frame and incredible shot-blocking. The Warriors will stifle defenses while Curry and Klay go off, so he might be a very good target for them.

Trade Package: Draymond Green, Eric Paschall, No. 2 Pick

5. Ben Simmons

16.4 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 8.0 APG, 2.1 SPG, 0.6 BPG

Stephen Curry plays point guard, but it doesn't mean he can't share playmaking duties with Ben Simmons. Curry is a pure scorer anyways, so Simmons would be a massive helper in getting him open for his looks. Simmons is a beast on the break, and one can imagine him feeding Steph and Klay for threes all game long.

Even if Simmons plays power forward, he can handle the ball and be more of a force inside. Simmons is very versatile and has an excellent all-around game, so he can prosper on defense as well. Ben Simmons would give the Warriors a future Hall of Fame player that can guide them to chips now and in the future.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, No. 2 Pick

4. Joel Embiid

The Warriors could switch it up a bit and opt for a dominant low post center like Joel Embiid. It is sad to see, but the 76ers are looking worse by the day. They gave big contracts to the wrong players and the duo of Simmons and Embiid doesn't seem to work for a variety of reasons.

Embiid might be available, and the Warriors can acquire him and surround him with the two best shooters in the NBA. Embiid can dominate down low and force teams to double, opening up the floor for Steph and Klay. The Warriors would have an Inside-Outside attack that they never had before, and would surely play in the NBA Finals if they acquire Embiid.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, Alen Smailagic, No. 2 Pick

3. Brandon Ingram

23.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.6 BPG

Brandon Ingram could possibly create a Splash Brothers 3.0. He is young, athletic, and has the build of Kevin Durant. Ingram is also a good shooter from deep, thanks to his high release and accuracy. Ingram can be the replacement for KD at the swingman position and will only get better playing alongside Curry and Thompson.

Ingram has a career year in 2020 and made his first All-Star appearance. The Warriors should only shop their second overall pick for a third All-Star and Ingram gives them the exceptional talent to go and fight for another title.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, No. 2 Pick

2. Bradley Beal

30.5 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 6.1 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Bradley Beal gives the Warriors a third All-Star scorer who can shoot the lights out and create his own shot. He would fit seamlessly into the Warriors offense because he can score on the ball and off the ball. Beal also gives the team another option in the clutch, in case of defenses swarm Steph Curry in pivotal moments.

When competing in the postseason, performing under pressure is absolutely essential. A guy like Bradley Beal gives the Warriors somebody who can create and hit big shots. Not to mention, he is one of the best scorers in the league and a fantastic all-around player on offense.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall, No. 2 Pick

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

29.5 PPG, 13.6 RPG, 5.6 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The number one target for the Golden State Warriors should be Giannis Antetokounmpo. He's the best player in the league at the moment and would immediately make the Warriors title contenders next year. In fact, he would make them the favorites.

The likes of the Clippers and Lakers do not have the shooting of Steph and Klay, while Giannis provides an inside presence they lack as well. Giannis on any team is a title contender, but surrounding him with arguably the two best shooters in NBA history spells disaster for the rest of the league.

Trade Package: Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Eric Paschall, No. 2 Pick
