NBA Rumors: Bogdan Bogdanovic Is The Perfect Target For The Lakers

If Thursday night's blowout loss to the Bucks taught the Lakers anything, it's that they still have a lot of work to do before the playoffs start this spring.

The combined powers of LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be enough for them to compete against anyone in the West. To maximize their chances, though, the Purple and Gold might benefit from the acquisition of another long-distance shooter. Enter Sacramento big man Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Averaging 14 points and 40% shooting from beyond the arc this season, his skill set could be just what the Lakers need to put themselves over the top. Jason Reed of Fansided’s LA Sports Hub described what such a partnership would look like.

Bogdanovic is another reliable shooting wing for the Lakers that could log minutes at either the shooting guard or small forward position. He is shooting 40.1 percent from beyond the arc this season and is averaging 14.6 points per game.

The price? Kyle Kuzma, the last remaining remnant of L.A.'s young core.

Another trade that includes Kyle Kuzma and the logic is exactly the same: the Los Angeles Lakers would be trading for someone who is a better fit around LeBron James and the rest of the players on the team.

No doubt, giving up Kuzma would be a risky move. As a young, talented scorer (and fan favorite), trading him would not be an easy call to make. But his shooting can be rather streaky and, in light of the Lakers' bench scoring a whopping 4 total points on Thursday, it's clear that they could use some consistency in that area.

Bogdan signed a 3-year, $27 million deal in 2017 and has since been lighting it up for the Kings. He's averaging 14.6 points and 3.9 assists on 43% shooting.
