Lakers Rumors: Two Best Trade Packages That Could Land Anthony Davis

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

This may be one of the biggest weeks of the year for the Los Angeles Lakers as they look to make a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis. The Lakers have expressed their interest in the 5-time All-Star and ever since he announced that he wanted to be traded, L.A has become the front runner to secure his talents.

However, the Lakers will need to make a successful deal before the February 7 Trade Deadline, otherwise, it’s likely that the Celtics become the favorites to acquire Davis in the summer. This means the Lakers need to make a risk right now if they truly want Anthony Davis on their roster. This would also possibly have an impact on Kevin Durant in the summer who may be more likely to sign with L.A through free agency if both LeBron and Davis were there.

We’ve come up with two trade packages that the Lakers could offer the Pelicans which would be extremely hard to reject.

Trade Package 1: Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Future 1st Round, and 2nd Round Pick

This trade could easily be a win for both franchises, it’s plenty of youth that the Lakers would be trading which is what the Pelicans need right now considering they’re not planning to be a playoff threat with this team they currently have.

The Pelicans have spoken very positively about how they think Lonzo has the potential to be a star so you could imagine that he would be one of their first choices if they had their way. The draft picks are also essential for any trade that the Lakers plan on offering the Pelicans considering just how much talent they will be losing with Davis. With Ingram and Hart thrown in as well, it would be very hard to see how the Pelicans could say no to this.

Trade Package 2: Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, 1st Round, and 2nd Round pick

Lonzo Ball is again a must considering the interest that the Pelicans currently have in the second-year guard. Ivica Zubac, on the other hand, isn’t the first person that would come to mind when forming a trade package, but the 7-foot 1 center has improved a great deal lately and has shown that he has great potential.

The Pelicans also do need some more frontcourt players considering they are about to lose Davis. Kyle Kuzma has a lot of value as well, the 23-year-old has turned into the Lakers number two man behind LeBron. It would be tough for the Lakers to trade him away but the franchise would be able to keep both Hart and Ingram on the roster this way.

Either of these two trade packages should be enough to have New Orleans ready to accept the deal. It certainly is a lot to give up but this a trade for arguably the most valuable player in the league considering his young age and unbelievable talent. With Anthony Davis on the Lakers roster alongside LeBron James, this team turns into a real contender that could just about beat any team on their day.
