Los Angeles Lakers Want To Land Anthony Davis As Soon As Possible

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

Ever since the offseason, Anthony Davis has been involved in several rumors, as apparently, he was being aggressively recruited by Kyrie Irving on a potential team up if he decided to force a trade from New Orleans.

Last season, coach Alvin Gentry joked about the Celtics’ supposed interest in the Unibrow, stating that they could, in fact, trade him to Boston, but that they had to give them the New England Patriots in return.

Patriots or not, some insiders believe that Davis may actually leave the Pelicans sooner than expected, but rather to the Celtics longtime rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Davis is under contract until 2020, and the fact that he just fired his old agent and signed with LeBron’s Rich Paul, speculation started to grow as if Davis would like to team up with the King in Los Angeles.

Davis told Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated he is still under contract with New Orleans through the 2020-21 season and he is not the source of the departure rumors.

“I got two years to ’20-’21. I’m here and whatever happens after that happens,” Davis told ESPN’s The Undefeated. “For me, right now it is about being the most dominant player in the league and helping this team win.

You hear all the rumors. You hear all the talk. But it’s not coming from me. I’m here to be a Pelican, help this team move forward and help this team win a championship.”

Nonetheless, the All-Star big man has constantly denied any rumors stating that he may leave the Pelicans any time soon, stating that “You can’t listen to what somebody else is saying, all the white noise, ‘A.D.’s going here, A.D.’s going here,’” concluding that “A.D.’s playing for the Pelicans this year. The rest will take care of itself.”

According to Brandon Robinson, the Lakers aren't going to wait for Anthony Davis to become a free agent.

The truth is that LeBron James needs help and he can't wait for the next few years.

The Lakers are going to be extremely aggressive in their pursuits for top-tier talents next summer, and landing Anthony Davis to team up with the King would be the icing on the cake for them if Kevin Durant and/or Klay Thompson also leave the Warriors.

Obviously, that’s a lot of ‘ifs’, but Anthony Davis could go on to become the Lakers next franchise player as LeBron’s career comes to an end, and hey, even though Boston may have a better offer on the table, the trade packages the Lakers can offer aren’t bad at all, take a look:

Trade Package Idea 1: Josh Hart, Ivica Zubac, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, 1st round pick

Trade Package Idea 2: Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, 1st round pick
