According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies have finally accepted the fact that they’re in no position to contend in the West with that kind of roster and that they need to rebuild right now.
That means the Grizzlies are finally listening to trade offers for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, trying to get Conley’s salary off their books and make the most of them before Gasol walks away for free in the summer.
But, who has the kind of assets to pull a move off for one or the other? Who could offer fair value? Conley’s 31 years old, Gasol is 33 and on an expiring deal. Let’s take a look and break this down, discussing the best trade offers for both of them.
Best Trade Packages For Marc Gasol
3. Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets are on the verge of making the playoffs again, and with Kemba Walker playing the best ball of his career, they need to be as aggressive as they can for the last shot at convincing him to stay beyond this season.
So, landing Gasol would definitely enhance their roster for a playoff run, and they could get him in return for Malik Monk, Cody Zeller, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a move that would give them the kind of cap flexibility to try and resign him in the summer.
Trade Package: Malik Monk, Cody Zeller, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
2. Miami Heat
According to Bleacher Report, the idea of the Heat and the Grizzlies swapping centers has been around for a while, and now that they’re finally ready to move on from the Spaniard, they might as well just pull the trigger now.
Hassan Whiteside wants no part of the heat and vice versa, and he could be a nice fit next to Jaren Jackson Jr, at least for the time being. For salary purposes, they’d also have to trade away James Johnson.
Trade Package: Hassan Whiteside, James Johnson
1. San Antonio Spurs
Spurs and Marc Gasol look like a match made in heaven if you ask me. Not only he’d be thrilled to play with his brother Pau, but he’d also be an instant fit under Gregg Popovich’s system amid their playoff hopes.
Gasol could come handy when it comes to spacing the floor on offense and protecting the rim as well, and they could get him in return for Rudy Gay, Davis Bertans, Bryn Forbes, Jakob Poeltl and future 2nd Round Pick.

Best Trade Packages For Mike Conley
3. Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic have been looking for a starting point guard for some years now, and while Conley’s not getting any younger, he could really help lead the way on a roster filled with talent and youth.
Conley could even help the Magic make the playoffs right away with the Heat and Hornets struggling lately, and they could get him and Kyle Anderson in return for Aaron Gordon (who’d, be great next to Jaren Jackson Jr but doesn’t fit next to Jonathan Isaac) and Timofey Mozgov.
Trade Package: Mike Conley, Kyle Anderson, JaMychal Green, 2nd Round Pick For Aaron Gordon, Timofey Mozgov
2. Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are the other team also desperately craving a starting point guard and while this season’s already lost, Conley’s presence could really fix their defensive woes come next season.
That way, Devin Booker could finally play off-ball and they could put an end to their overdue rebuilding process. In order to get him, they’d have to trade away TJ Warren, Dragan Bender, and Ryan Anderson.
Trade Package: TJ Warren, Dragan Bender, and Ryan Anderson
1. Indiana Pacers
Mike Conley could return to his hometown Indianapolis and play for one of the hottest and most promising franchises in the Eastern Conference, especially with Darren Collison and Cory Joseph set to become free agents.
Conley’s presence could help the Pacers ease on Aaron Holiday’s transition to the starting point guard spot a couple years from now while still being able to compete right away. In order to get him, they’d have to deal away Tyreke Evans, Darren Collison, Cory Joseph and maybe a pick or two.
