The Milwaukee Bucks' season came to an early and - again - as they fell in 5 games to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. It was a major disappointment - again - as they had the best record in the league entering the playoffs.
There have been a lot of rumors regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Bucks and even though he's stated his desire to stay, the franchise still needs to make a move or two if they want to have a true shot at contending for an NBA Championship.
And, according to Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report, they could put together a trade package for Chris Paul involving Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, and Ersan Ilyasova:
“Giannis’ shaky jumper and the fact that both stars need the ball to do what they do best makes this a potentially awkward fit, but high-end talent often overcomes slightly mismatched puzzle pieces. And it seems clear the Bucks need a jolt of such talent following their five-game ousting by the Miami Heat. In terms of satisfying the CBA, the contracts of Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, and Ersan Ilyasova would get it done and open up significant flexibility for OKC. Milwaukee would then have a glaring need at center, but that shouldn’t dissuade it from upgrading to Paul," the report stated.
It was a hell of a ride for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season but their first-round exit and Billy Donovan's departure make it clear that now more than ever they need to embrace a rebuild to become a powerhouse in the future.
Obviously, that doesn't fit Chris Paul's timeline. CP3 has made every team he's been in better and he'll be a major improvement over Eric Bledsoe, who was once again exposed in the playoffs. Pull the trigger, Bucks!
