With the Jordan Clarkson era officially over in Cleveland, the team is making it their mission to accumulate as many picks and young players as they can before February's trade deadline.

They will use what's left of their 2016 Championship core to do so. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, we can expect the Cavs to be aggressive in swapping their veteran stars for future assets.

Cleveland is obviously invested in their future -- and they should be. With a 9-21 record in the East, there isn't much left to play for this season.

For guys like Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, and J.R. Smith, they can take several steps forward in their rebuild.

Teams like Denver, Portland, Boston, and Miami have been named as just a few potential trade partners for these players. Collin Sexton and Darius Garland have yet to emerge and the Cavs are still on the hunt for a superstar talent in which they can build around.

And, until the Cavaliers find that player, they will likely remain in the bunker of the Eastern Conference.
