It's true that the Warriors took a step back this season. They lost Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston -- three key members of their Championship core.

To replace them, the Dubs traded for D'Angelo Russell, a young up-and-coming point guard who is hungry for a Championship. Already, though, his long-term future with the team has been shrouded in doubt. Some believe his awkward fit in the backcourt could prompt the Warriors to trade him for another star by mid-season.

According to The Athletic's Ethan Strauss, they have no plans on trading the 2019 All-Star.

Ever since D’Angelo Russell signed with the Golden State Warriors there have been rumblings of him being moved. Contrary to popular beleif the Warriors consider him as a foundational piece that can help move them into the future.

D'Angelo Russell has yet to play a minute with the Warriors. The concern is understandable. As a young shooting guard, how can he fit alongside Steph and Klay -- two middle-aged star guards. Does he come off the bench? Does he force Thompson to play the three?

There are certainly a lot of questions about how he'll fit in with the rest of the roster. Either way, the Warriors intend to find out just what they have -- and how best they can make things work.
