NBA Rumors: Knicks Declined A Trade Offer From The Rockets For Chris Paul

Despite Daryl Morey and Chris Paul's reassurance, nobody is buying the idea that everything is fine in Houston. A noticeable rift has formed between Paul and his superstar teammate James Harden over the past season -- one that is likely the culprit behind their underwhelming performance in the 2019 postseason.

But according to new reports (again, reports that some within the team have denied), things between the backcourt partners have reached their breaking point. So much so, in fact, that we are hearing about the Rockets practically begging teams to take the 34-year-old point guard off their hands (via Kevin O'Connor).

One such team was the Knicks, only not even they were able to be fooled into taking one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

The Knicks have around $70 million in cap space to spend this summer, by far the highest in the league. Houston was attempting to entice the Knicks by offering him "for free" in a potential deal, but they wouldn't bite.

As the league prepares for free agency in just 11 days, it appears more and more likely that the Rockets will be forced to enter the season with the guys they have.
