NBA Rumors: Rockets Need Third Team To Complete Russell Westbrook Trade

Rockets Need Third Team To Complete Russell Westbrook Trade

Russell Westbrook has been one of the hottest topics in the NBA in the last hours following Kawhi Leonard's decision to go play with the Los Angeles Clippers and take Paul George with him. After the Oklahoma City Thunder traded George to LA for a big package, Westbrook has been considered the next on the line to leave the squad this summer.

Earlier today we found out three teams were in the race to get Russ: the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, and Houston Rockets, but now the latter appear to be the frontrunners to land the point guard ahead of next season, but they might face some trouble in the process.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, in order to make this move, Houston have to either present a good proposal to the Thunder or find a third team willing to take part in the exchange.

Of course, nobody said it was going to be an easy job to carry out, this is Russell Westbrook we're talking of, but the Rockets have to put a lot of effort in this trade if they want to reunite James Harden and Westbrook at the Toyota Center.

We have to wait and see if the Texans can pull off the move; they need to move fast as the Pistons and Heat are also trying to get Brodie this summer.
