NBA Rumors: The Timberwolves Want To Pair Devin Booker With Karl-Anthony Towns And D'Angelo Russell

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

You don't have to be a genius or be around the NBA for long to know that Devin Booker has already outgrown the Phoenix Suns, both as a small market team and as a franchise overall, considering their lack of recent success and how they've been managed lately.

The Suns surged and were one of the biggest feel-good stories in the NBA bubble but whether that success is going to be sustainable is yet to be seen. Moreover, most of their undefeated run came thanks to Devin Booker's heroics and no player could do that much heavy-lifting for a long period of time.

With that in mind, it's believed that Devin Booker would welcome a trade away from the desert, and Shams Charania of The Athletic claims that the Minnesota Timberwolves are doing their due diligence on him right now:

“The Wolves have been looking into Booker’s potential availability for months but have been given no indication that he is available, league sources said," Charania reported.

It's not a secret that Devin Booker holds a close friendship with Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell and that they've fantasized with the idea of teaming up somewhere down the road. They're all pretty young and the Timberwolves would be wise to get them all together, even if the defense would be a huge concern.

The Wolves are currently entitled to the first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft and it goes without saying that it would have to be included in any transaction for Phoenix's franchise player, so we'll have to keep tabs on this story ahead of the Draft.
