NBA Rumors: Top 5 Best Destinations For Carmelo Anthony

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

Carmelo Anthony has been stealing all the headlines lately but for all of the wrong reasons, as the 16-year veteran is once again being mistreated as a scapegoat following his team’s slow start of the season.

After being let go by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Carmelo joined the Houston Rockets in yet another attempt to win an NBA Championship, but with the team struggling so much in both sides of the floor, it seems like they’re pointing the finger in Anthony’s direction.

So, amid all of the rumors that point towards Carmelo’s tenure with the Rockets coming to an end pretty soon, let’s take a look at the 5 teams where he could actually be useful before deciding to retire.

5. Philadelphia 76ers

Even though the team has already “categorically denied” the rumors pointing towards them being interested in Carmelo Anthony, this team has lost some depth at the power forward position with the Jimmy Butler trade.

Moreover, this team desperately needs shooters, as Markelle Fultz’ shot is still way off and JJ Redick can’t do it all on his own. So, if they strike out on Kyle Korver, Anthony could be an interesting fit for sure.

4. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers are on a roll right now with Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic playing at their best, but they still struggle to get points off the bench with Stauskas and Curry kind of struggling.

Carmelo has already embraced a lesser role off the bench so there should be no problem there, and he could still be helpful for a team that has always fallen short in the NBA Playoffs.

3. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat isn’t going to compete any time soon and everybody knows that, as a matter of fact, the team is even likely to move Hassan Whiteside at some point of the season and that’s definitely going to take a toll on their playoff chances.

Even so, Dwyane Wade has already stepped up in Carmelo’s defense and even though he’s not going to stand a chance at a Championship, he can at least save his dignity and have a nice season playing next to one of his best friends in his last dance.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers got off to a sloppy start of the season despite all of their new additions, although Tyson Chandler’s signing has really helped them turn around their defense. So, why not add more firepower to the mix?

Obviously, Lakers fans aren’t going to like this move, but with Melo being one of LeBron’s closest friends, the team’s going to sign him if James says so. Could you just imagine that locker room with Rondo, Stephenson, Beasley, LeBron, Melo and McGee? Sheesh!

Two Huge Reasons Why NBA Teams Must Tank This Season

1. Golden State Warriors

And obviously, the team that could still use Carmelo would be the Golden State Warriors. Why? Well, on one hand, they’re the best team of the decade and arguably the best team in NBA history, and also, they just don’t seem to care anymore.

The Warriors are just having fun out there. They’re the best and they know it, and they’re pretty much just handing out rings for anybody who wants some. They’ve already gotten Nick Young and JaVale McGee some silverware, so why not a future Hall of Famer like Carmelo?
