DeMarcus Cousins is one of the best big men in the NBA, but he never played in the NBA Playoffs.
This season he has great stats (as always), averaging 27.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.0 block per game.
The Kings should change something and NBA trade rumors are always around DeMarcus Cousins.
"I'd say it's 50-50," one Western Conference executive told Sam Amico of Amico Hoops. "If not, it's not necessarily because they want to keep him."
"They try to act like they would never ever trade him, but why not?" a general manager told Amico. "That team stinks. They have since (Cousins) got there."
“They’ll never get what they want in return,” an East Conference general manager told Amico Hoops. “They think Cousins is worth more than he actually is. He hurts you every bit as much as he helps you. He’s like a cheeseburger, or booze. Too much and you’ll pay a price.”
Other team executives agree, telling Amico Hoops the Kings are only holding on to Cousins because they have no other choice.
"I’d be terrified with that guy on my team," one general manager said. "They’ve asked me about him, what I’d give up. The answer is not much, no one that I value.”
“I’d take (Cousins), but you’d need a dominant personality to control him," one Western Conference executive said. "I’ve been in that locker room. He’s a problem. They’d love to trade him, but can’t. So they act like they won’t. They would, though — tomorrow.”
Sacramento Kings have 4 wins so far (4-9) and they will probably not playing in the NBA Playoffs once again.
