The Nuggets seem intent on hanging on to 2x All-Star Bradley Beal for as long as they can. They are expected to offer him a full three-year max extension this summer as early as this Friday. It was also reported that the Wizards, as of now, have no plans to trade young guard, even if he turns down the 3-year extension.
But who is to say the Wizards wouldn't at least consider trading Beal if it were for the right price?
According to Matt Levin of Fansided‘s Wiz Of Awes, the Nuggets could acquire Bradley Beal by engaging in a three-team deal with the Nuggets and the Suns. The proposed trade would involve the Nuggets will receiving Beal, the Wizards acquiring Tyler Johnson, Michael Porter Jr., Malik Beasley, the Suns’ 2020 first-round pick, Denver’s 2022, 2024, and 2026 first-round picks, and the right to swap picks with Denver in 2023 and 2025 and the Suns getting Gary Harris, Torrey Craig, and Bol Bol.
“Denver is currently one of the best teams in the league and are already championship contenders. By adding Beal, Denver will compete with the Clippers as the league’s favorite to win it all.”
The Nuggets were one of the league's top teams last season, boasting the second-best record in the West en-route to a Western Conference Semi-Finals appearance. Eventually, they were handed a series loss at the hands of Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.
This summer did not bring much in terms of change for them -- their roster is the same and they will be running it back in hopes of securing an NBA Finals berth. They have got their work cut out for them, but trading for Bradley Beal would obviously make their task much easier.
