Report: Carmelo Anthony Would Love To Head To LA To Team Up With LeBron

Carmelo Anthony looks to be ready to part ways with the Oklahoma City Thunder this summer, and the idea of teaming up with LeBron James in L.A looks to be a serious possibility.

According to Yahoo Sports Insider and Analyst Jordan Schultz, Carmelo Anthony is highly interested in playing for the Lakers and having the chance of playing alongside LeBron.

LeBron James has recently agreed to a four-year deal worth $154 million dollars with the Lakers that puts the franchise back into championship conversation for the first time in years.

The two superstars are close friends since being drafted in 2003, and Carmelo would love to finish his career chasing his first ever championship together with LeBron.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Royce Young reported that the Lakers would be in the mix for the 10-time NBA All-Star along with the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat who are expected to express their interest in recruiting Carmelo Anthony.

“Anthony, a 10-time NBA All-Star, and three-time Olympic gold medalist, would be pursued vigorously among contenders on the free-agent market. The Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are among multiple teams expected to express interest in Anthony, sources tell ESPN.”

Carmelo Anthony finished the 2017-18 season poorly. shooting a career-low 40.4 percent from the field. At 34-years-old with his peak form behind him, it would certainly be a risk for the Lakers to pick up Anthony this off-season.
