For the San Antonio Spurs, this will be a season to forget.
With much speculation and scandal involved in such a sub-par season, their historic, long-standing dynasty may be in danger of finally collapsing. It all has to do with Kawhi Leonard.
For the gifted young superstar, his play this season has been reduced to virtually nothing as a result of dealing with nagging leg problems all year long. Thing is, he's been cleared to play for months now, and still remains out, claiming his body isn't ready for a return.
Soon after, rumors ran rampant about the deteriorating relationship between Leonard and his ball-club, with some teams now going so far as to prepare a trade offer in hopes of stealing him away from the Spurs. It all has been rather speculative though... until now.
According to the Sacramento Bee, there might actually be a serious problem between The Klaw and the Spurs organization.
According to Ailene Voisin, Communication between the San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi Leonard has evaporated to the point that Leonard will fail to respond to messages from the team for weeks at a time. And now Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will apparently entertain trading Leonard if he's unable to improve his relationship with the franchise.
Simply put: the Spurs are in trouble. Will they find a way out of this disaster, or will they finally be up against something even they can't overcome?
