Report: Kawhi Leonard May Sit Out Next Season So He Can Be Traded To LA

Apparently Kawhi Leonard wants to go to Los Angeles badly.

After all the rumors and speculation, the Los Angeles Lakers finally made a huge splash in free agency. The Lakers signed LeBron James last night, as well as some supporting pieces to completely transform their roster. Even though they missed out on the Paul George sweepstakes, they still managed to snag James, and could still be in play to acquire Kawhi Leonard and/or DeMarcus Cousins.

Leonard's future is still a major question mark for the San Antonio Spurs, and the situation has taken a bit of a back seat after all of the '#LABron' fanfare. But as things settle down, Leonard will be in the headlines once again, and according to recent reports, he may be willing to go to extreme lengths to land in Los Angeles.

Leonard only managed to play 9 games this past season with a right quad injury, with rumors circulating towards the end of the season that Kawhi was taking more time off because he was unhappy with the Spurs' front office.

When the source comes from the infamous Stephen A. Smith, you have to be wary of the report, but if it's true, this could spell the end of the Leonard era in San Antonio.
