Report: Lakers Prepared To Trade Away One Talented Young Star

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a fairly quiet offseason. Considering what the Cavaliers and Knicks have gone through this summer, the Lakeshow has had an easy few months.

With that being said, it hasn't been a completely uneventful summer. The Lakers traded D'Angelo Russell for Brook Lopez, drafted Lonzo Ball, and signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Even with those moves, however, the Lakers may not be done.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report claims the Lakers are "confident" they can trade Jordan Clarkson before next summer.

Besides the new acquisitions in the backcourt, the need to clear up cap space for superstars is playing a big part in Jordan Clarkson's availability in the trade market. Simply put, Los Angeles wants to make room for bigger and better stars.

No additional reports have come out on any potential trade partners. But seeing as to how desperate and confident the Lakers seem to reach a deal, a trade definitely seems inevitable.

In three seasons with the Lakers, Clarkson is averaging 14.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. AS one of L.A.'s premier young talents, he's known as one of the best bench scorers in the league.
