Any team that wants to trade for Markelle Fultz will have to wait in line. While giving up assets for a guy with so much bust-or-boom potential seems far from a safe move, the Pheonix Suns may be willing to strike a deal anyway, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"That was the word coming out of Cleveland, as the Cavaliers were interested in taking a chance on the 2017 first overall pick before trading Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, sources said. The Phoenix Suns are among the teams with some level of interest, a source said."
So long as Fultz is "truthful" about his shooting woes, the Suns interest on Phoenix's front will be there.
They'd likely have to send Trevor Ariza and a second round pick, but bringing in Fultz makes all too much sense for them.
With an already stacked young core, this team is in no position to win now. They are developing, learning, and building themselves for the future. With so much time on their hands, and no pressure from the fans, is there a better situation for the former #1 overall pick to be in?
If he booms, then the Suns suddenly have the brightest looking young backcourt in the NBA. If he fails to live up to standards, well, what'd it really cost them?
