The Lakers are in desperate need of some star-power. Even with LeBron, nobody really considers them a serious threat to the Warriors. So far, they've held their cards and have refused to deal any of their young stars.
Anthony Davis was the guy they were waiting for, and with news about his trade request going public, the Lakers seem destined to make an immediate run for him. And according to what sources told L.A. Times' Brad Turner, it will be a hefty price.
Since the season began, Kuzma has elevated his trade value substantially. With LeBron gone, he has become the go-to offensive scorer for the team. And Lonzo, even despite his shooting srtuggles, remains one of the smartest young players in the game.
As Turner notes, this will only start the conversation. The Lakers will likely have to offer more if they are to beat out the competition.
Though, if there's anything we've learned in recent weeks, it's that when it comes to Anthony Davis, there isn't a whole lot Magic Johnson and the Lakers aren't willing to do.
