The Most Important NBA Rumors: Kevin Love, Carmelo Anthony And Brandon Ingram

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

The NBA season is approaching fast, and so much activity is happening every day. So far, Dwight Howard has ended up back in the Lakers while DeMarcus Cousins is battling injuries and allegations. Wilson Chandler just got busted for PED’s, and LaMelo Ball is part of the Lavar Ball circus all the way in Australia.

Unsurprisingly, some more stories are developing. Former superstar Carmelo Anthony might find himself a new home, while other NBA stars might be on the move to other teams. With such a wide-open league now, teams have two goals to choose from: contend or rebuild. At the same time, there are players who are hungry to prove themselves and become part of a winning culture.

Here are the Top 5 hottest rumors in the league right now.

Carmelo Anthony: Knicks or Nets?

One of the biggest talking points this season has been Carmelo Anthony. After failing to find a home so far, Melo might be getting closer.

Anthony has worked out with both the Knicks and Nets players, possibly signaling a return back to his native New York. That was where Melo last played at an All-NBA level and might be able to rekindle some of his offensive firepowers if he does join.

The Knicks missed out on major free agent targets, and will possibly look to Anthony to make them relevant once again. Meanwhile, current Nets players are begging management to give Anthony a chance to prove his elite talent in today’s game.

Even though Anthony himself stated that he has been blackballed from the league, he might soon find a resting place in New York. After all, what do the Knicks or Nets have to lose? The Knicks will not be a factor in the East, while the Nets need firepower with KD gone for the year.

Kyle Lowry to the Timberwolves?

Kyle Lowry is an NBA champion. Something players can only dream of becoming, and he was a big part of that. Even though Kawhi Leonard’s greatness was the reason the Raptors are a championship franchise, Lowry was key in the Playoffs by hustling every possession and hitting outside shots.

It is no wonder the Minnesota Timberwolves could be in the hunt for Lowry, who would greatly benefit young superstar Karl Anthony Towns. Lowry would lock-down the point guard position for the Wolves, and bring some star power to a team that is still looking to replace Jimmy Butler.

A possible trade package would include Jeff Teague, Gorgui Dieng, a top-eight protected 2020 first-round pick to the Raptors for Lowry. The Raptors can clear the books with the expiring contracts of Teague and Dieng, and acquire a first-round pick in the process. The Raptors might be convinced if Minnesota throw in some second-rounders as well.

Kevin Love trade to Portland

Portland was a Western Conference Finals last season, and look to run it back with their two offensive stars in Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. They managed to add Hassan Whiteside to backup Nurkic, along with Kent Bazemore.

Bazemore could be on the move though, in order to bring former NBA Champion Kevin Love to the Blazers. He would fit perfectly with the sharp-shooting backcourt and would be a shoo-in fit next to Nurkic and Whiteside. The Blazers would put themselves among the best teams in the West with this move.

There is also no question that Love wants to be a Finals contender once again, and joining the Blazers would greatly improve his chances.

DeMar DeRozan’s end as a Spur

The Spurs have a mix of win-now stars in Aldridge and DeRozan, and young emerging stars in Dejounte Murray and Derrick White. The Spurs should focus on the latter, and consider moving DeRozan.

Most recently, three teams have expressed interest in acquiring the scoring guard. The Magic, Pistons, and Bulls have all inquired about a trade for DeRozan. For the Spurs, sending him packing would possibly do them justice as he is simply not good enough to lead a team in a loaded Western Conference. DeRozan might find himself a new home next year, possibly to his own benefit and to the benefit of his current team.

Brandon Ingram to the Knicks

Brandon Ingram could potentially be a trade target for the Knicks since he has a perfect mix of youth and talent. Ingram is developing as a star forward in this league, with excellent shooting and ball-handling skills.

He could potentially reunite with old teammate Julius Randle, and create a strong 1-2 punch that the Lakers may have passed on. At least for the immediate future, Ingram would give the Knicks an exciting young player to help fill the seats in Madison Square Garden.

If he can clear health concerns (blood clots), Ingram will likely be a major player for the Most Improved Player Award.
