Top 4 Players That Can Help Anthony Davis And New Orleans Pelicans

Fadeaway World

Fadeaway World

The New Orleans Pelicans are the kind of team that is not bad enough to tank nor good enough to compete, even though they have arguably a top 5 player in the league in Anthony Davis just entering his prime.

They’re a small market team so they won’t have an easy task to recruit top-tier free agents, even despite Davis’ presence, so they have to be creative and find a way to acquire talent via trade.

Also, with all the rumors surrounding a possible Davis departure to the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics, they need to go all-in this season if they don’t want to lose their biggest star soon.

That’s why today, we’re going to let you know about the top 4 players that could help David and the Pelicans.

4. Tobias Harris

Tobias Harris is one of the most underrated players in the world right now, as he’s durable, an above the average defender, and a guy that could pretty much fill the stat sheet on a nightly basis.

Having said that, he’s not the guy the Clippers need right now, as they need to clear as much salary cap as possible for the summer. In order to get him, the Pelicans would just have to match his contract, as the Clippers shouldn’t even be winning games right now planning ahead to the future.

3. Tim Hardaway Jr.

The New York Knicks want to clear cap space for this upcoming free agency, and the New Orleans Pelicans need shooters and guys that could create off the dribble, so this trade makes a lot of sense.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is having the best season of his career and deserves to play on a better team than the tanking Knicks, and New Orleans could get him for Wesley Johnson, E’Twaun Moore, and a 1st round pick.

2. Terry Rozier

Terry Rozier wants and needs more playing time and the New Orleans Pelicans want and need a starting point guard with Payton being so injury prone, so this one’s one of those few win-win scenarios that could happen on a trade.

The Pelicans would upgrade their point guard spot and could get him in return of Elfrid Payton and a 2nd round pick. Also, Boston knows they will lose Rozier in the summer, so they might as well move him.

1. Andrew Wiggins

Is it safe to say Andrew Wiggins is a bust already? If not, let’s just assume he needs a change of environment in order to finally thrive and become as good as we all thought he’d ever been when he first entered the league.

Wiggins’ upside is worth the risk and even if Anthony Davis winds up leaving, they could try and rebuild around him. In order to get the former 1st overall pick, they’d have to give away Darius Miller, E’Twaun Moore, Nikola Mirotic, a 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick,
