The Warriors wanted something for the loss of Kevin Durant. They got that guy in D'Angelo Russell, who the Nets had to let go in order to make room for Kyrie, KD, and DeAndre Jordan.
Dub Nation has been on the "DLoading" train ever since, and it seems the Warriors are optimistic about their future without Durant.
But in a strange and surprising twist, Russell may not actually be sticking around for very long. In a report by The New York Times' Marc Stein, the Warriors will eventually look to trade the young All-Star point guard.
Keep in mind, the Warriors cannot just trade Russell immediately after trading for him. And with Klay out for a few months, they are likely to at least try him out for a season before eventually pulling the trigger on a deal for a guy who's a better fit.
With Klay and Steph in the backcourt, how effective will Russell with a significant drop-off in usage rate? There just might not be enough room to make things work.
