5 Legendary Teams In NBA History That Could Beat The Golden State Warriors

5 Legendary Teams In NBA History That Could Beat The Golden State Warriors

The NBA has had a large number of super teams in the past, just about one or two a decade. One of the first super teams goes back to the late 1950s when the Celtics won the championships from 1959-1966.

Many NBA fans don't like super teams because it makes the league less competitive. The current big super team in the NBA is the Warriors who just added a 5th All-Star to their roster this offseason. During the playoffs last season the Rockets took the Warriors to a 7 game series during the Western Conference Finals but the Rockets lost due to Chris Paul getting injured and not being able to play in Game 7.

Although the Warriors won it did show that they aren't invincible and can be taken down.

1. 1996-1997 Chicago Bulls

This team was the best team Michael Jordan ever played with. Not only did the Bulls have Michael Jordan but also one of the best rebounders Dennis Rodman and 7-time All-Star Scottie Pippen. This team ended up getting three NBA Championships in a row from 1996-1998.

The team also had 9 time NBA All-Star Robert Parish and NBA Three-Point Shootout Champion Steve Kerr. Michael Jordan had a lot of great players surrounding him on this team. This team has been compared to the Warriors a lot but to take down Michael Jordan and 3 other all-stars you’re going to need a lot.

2. 2001-2002 Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers had a dynamic duo that was unstoppable. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal were a deadly pair. Before Kobe practically kicked Shaq out of L.A. they brought the city 3 championships in a row from 2000-2002. Shaq being a giant dunking machine and Kobe being a great shooter made the teamwork out so well.

Shaq and Kobe are now looked at as two of the best Lakers of all time. Even though the Warriors have one of the best defensive players in the league, Draymond Green, there is no way he could defend Shaq.

3. 2007-2008 Boston Celtics

The Celtics had a phenomenal roster when they won the 2008 NBA Championship. The team had players Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were both very good three-point shooters and both won the three-point shootout contest on different occasions.

Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo were good defensive players so the team had good offense and defense. The team also had good role players Kendrick Perkins and the White Mamba Brian Scalabrine. With the number of lethal shooters, this team had they would be a good competition against Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and this Celtics team would be better defensively in this matchup.

4. 1994-1995 Houston Rockets

1994 and 1995 NBA Champions had a team with a lot of star power. Players Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler made it possible for this team to win two championships in a row. In 1994 The Rockets defeated the Knicks who had a good roster in the Finals with players Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley and Doc Rivers.

The next year the Rockets beat the Magic in the Finals who had Anfernee Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal. The Rockets also had a good supporting cast with role players Robert Horry and Kenny Smith. Perhaps this Rockets team could defeat the Warriors unlike last season’s Rockets team.

5. 2012-2013 Miami Heat

When LeBron James decided to take his talents to South Beach and join the Heat in 2010 he also joined players Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. The Heat was the dominant team in the east when the big three was formed. The team went to four consecutive Finals and won two of them. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James were a perfect duo and is one of the best in NBA history.

LeBron James is one of the greatest players of all time and when he’s on an excellent team with two other all-stars that is not something you want to go against. This team would definitely pose a threat to the Warriors.
