Zion Williamson is already a superstar and he hasn’t even played a single minute as a professional hooper. Hell, even Paul Pierce claimed Williamson is a top 50 basketball player in the world as of today.

Naturally, all teams are going to be thrilled with the chance of getting him with the 1st overall pick of this upcoming NBA Draft, with the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and Cleveland Cavaliers as the biggest favorites to land him.

But, what if another lottery team winds up beating the odds for a chance? What if Zion winds up being drafted by a borderline playoff team and takes them to instant Championship contention? Let’s take a look at the top 5 teams that could shock the world and get Zion:

5. Minnesota Timberwolves (2.5%)

I truly hope this doesn’t happen. See, I don’t have anything against the Timberwolves, but clearly, they don’t know how to make the most of their 1st overall picks. Naturally, a Towns-Williamson frontcourt would be an offensive beauty to watch, but I want him making the playoffs.

The Timberwolves were one of the most disappointing teams of the season. They didn’t tank, but they weren’t good enough to compete in the Western Conference. Yet, they could still be rewarded with a superstar.

4. Los Angeles Lakers (2.5%)

Laker Nation is going to lose it if this happens. Hell, I hope this doesn’t happen or conspiracy theories about the league rigging the lottery to help LeBron and the Lakers aren’t going to flood the internet for ages.

Still, could you imagine Zion Williamson, who’s drawn a lot of comparisons with LeBron James, being tutored by the King himself? That would definitely make Magic Johnson’s work a lot easier this summer to lure top-tier talents.

3. Charlotte Hornets (1.5%)

Landing Zion Williamson would be the only way the Charlotte Hornets could keep Kemba Walker in free agency, as the team would be on a prime position to contend in the East playing him next to Malik Monk and Miles Bridges.

Zion could be getting advice from Michael Jordan and who knows? Could even become the face of the Jordan brand following his recent scandal with Nike. Also, it’s been rumored that he doesn’t want to play for a big market team.

2. Miami Heat (1.0%)

The Miami Heat could go full-circle by landing him. On one hand, they’d be watching Dwyane Wade retire after 16 seasons, on the other, they’d land a superstar that could take them a step forward and put an end to their recent mediocrity.

Miami has some interesting young players in Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson and Derrick Jones Jr, and enough money and an appealing city to try and make some noise in free agency, and getting Zion would really help them attract top-tier talents.

1. Sacramento Kings (0.5%)

We just need to see this happen. It’s a must. Zion Williamson catching lobs from De’Aaron Fox and Bogdan Bogdanovic and Buddy Hield help them space the floor with Willie Cauley-Stein protecting the rim? Yes, please.

Spacing may be a huge issue with him and Marvin Bagley, but they could use him as their offensive spark off the bench or even address the possibility of trading him at a fair price. Please, basketball Gods, please, make this happen.
