Things got a bit scary tonight at the Jazz vs. Bulls game in Summer League. Trey Alexander, who plays for the Jazz, collapsed to the floor with less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter, shortly after he bumped into Caleb Wilson on a drive towards the basket.
Alexander was seen writhing in pain, seemingly struggling to breathe while he held his left side and waited for help on the floor. The Jazz’s medical staff soon rushed to him, and he eventually had to be stretchered off the floor.

A rough night went from bad to worse for Trey Alexander. Even though he had an inefficient night on offense (two points only, missing all five shots from the floor), he contributed strongly to the Jazz’s 80-63 win over the Bulls tonight with six steals, six rebounds, and three assists.
The guard previously played for the Nuggets and the Pelicans on a two-way contract as he fought to make his place in the league. Hopefully, it is not as serious as it looked, and he’ll be back to health soon.
Unfortunately, the final few minutes of the game were a horrifying sight not just for Alexander, but also for all the basketball fans who saw this on social media. Several fans filled social media with prayers for the 23-year-old guard.
“Pray for Trey Alexander, everyone.”
“Never wanna see a guy fighting for a roster spot go out from a summer league injury. Hope he recovers. No clue what the injury is, but it looked like he was grabbing around his liver or appendix.”
“Scary scenes in Summer League, hope Trey Alexander is okay.”
“I’m still shocked over Trey Alexander. That actually took him out. Hope he’s okay. I worry about stuff like that since Chris Bosh had his career end after a contact on the floor triggered his onset symptoms.”
Several such prayers went out from fans who banded together in hopes that the 23-year-old is doing okay. He had won the 2025 G League Rookie of the Year and was fighting for minutes on the Pelicans last season before they eventually sent him to their G League team as well.
It is still not certain what exactly happened to Trey Alexander as a result of this collision. Hate to see such scary incidents happen with such promising prospects. We also hope for a speedy recovery for the guard.
