The NBA world is patiently waiting for news of LeBron James’ next team, but he doesn’t seem to be in any rush to decide. In fact, with NBA free agency on pause, James is living it up on the golf course right now, hanging with friends and family in a private outing.
Iconic comedian Kevin Hart was among those in attendance, but he became the butt of jokes after going winless on the course. In a now- viral moment that has gotten thousands of reposts, James shaded Hart over his performance until a reference to one of his historic Finals comebacks was made.
LeBron James: “I beat you three times and singles by myself, and I beat you twice in doubles.”
Kevin Hart: “What’s the game go to? What did we say we’re racing to?”
LeBron James: “I’m up 3-0, you ain’t beat me yet… I’m cooking you. You know how many teams came back from 3-0? None!”
Kevin Hart: “That’s not true. Didn’t you come back?”
LeBron James: “That’s 3-1 b*tch. 3-0, you heard what I said.”

Hart mistakenly believed that James had successfully pulled off a 3-0 comeback in the NBA, but no player or team has accomplished that feat. The closest LeBron ever came was in the 2016 NBA Finals, when he led the Cavaliers to a 3-1 series comeback over the 73-win Warriors. To this day, it’s considered one of the greatest feats in sports history and a crowning achievement of LeBron’s career. Clearly, Kevin didn’t do his homework, and the King made sure to set the record straight.
While Kevin Hart doesn’t have any direct links to the NBA, he’s friends with many athletes, including James, Draymond Green, and other high-profile players. The man doesn’t seem to play a lot of golf, but he provided plenty of comic relief. On one occasion, he and Draymond even had it out in a hilarious and brutal interaction caught on camera.
“You lost,” said Green. “You’re trying to put me at 123 because you shot a 119? You f**king stink. Why are you out here? You stink. You’re here because you’re Kevin Hart. You’re here because of your name. You are here to provide jokes.”

At the end of the day, it’s all in good fun, and it’s nothing out of the ordinary. For friends as close as these guys, banter like that is just a part of the package, and it highlights the genuine nature of their friendship. Of course, it also gives insight into how a comedian fits in with a crowd of professional athletes.
As for what it means regarding LeBron’s future, that much is unclear. Hanging out with Draymond could be a sign of his interest in the Warriors, but there’s just no way to know for sure. Either way, as the rest of us are left wondering about his next destination, James is committed to being patient with this process, even if it means endless speculation. Until LeBron is ready to make a decision, he’s going to enjoy his time off, and it sounds like he’s been winning in more ways than one.
