The Nets made major moves this offseason, and may not be done. Their roster looks very strong with a healthy Kevin Durant, and their immediate future looks promising.
Still, the Nets can land one of the best free agents remaining to fill out their roster and give them some more depth for a push to the playoffs this season.
With a healthy Kyrie Irving, anything is possible. Here are the best free agents that can help the Nets right now.
5. Ryan Anderson
Anderson is a stretch 4 who has always been a consistent three-point shooter throughout his career. Even at his age, he can still stroke it from deep once Kyrie finds him for open shots.
Anderson fits perfectly next to Jarett Allen and will be the shooting threat next to Allen's hustle and rebounding. The Nets can afford to sign him to a vet minimum to fill out the roster.
4. Corey Brewer
Corey Brewer is a guy who made his name off of hustle, energy, and fast-break prowess. Especially when playing alongside Kyrie, he will get many chances to run on the break and finish at the rim.
Brewer is also surprisingly athletic enough for some major dunks over helpless defenders. Brewer is a great fit for a young Nets team that will want to get out on the break as often as possible.
3. Jamal Crawford
Due to his legendary dribbling and scoring skills, Jamal Crawford proved he can be an All-Star talent throughout his career. As a former 6th Man of the Year winner, he is certainly one of the most exciting talents in NBA history.
Currently, Crawford is very capable of hitting the court as a role player and nailing a couple of shots while breaking a few ankles as well. If you need a backup guard, you can certainly do a lot worse than Jamal Crawford. It is very likely that the Nets will sign him to a minimum contract.
2. Kenneth Faried
Faried exploded in the scene last year with the Rockets, putting up solid rebounding numbers and displaying his unrelenting energy.
However, he barely played in the Playoffs and the Rockets did not re-sign him. The Nets might be a team looking to give him another shot. Faried can play both the 4 and 5, and you can expect him to contribute with his hustle immediately.
1. Carmelo Anthony
Lastly, Carmelo Anthony might be the best signing for the Nets. He is a HOF talent, and despite his age can most likely drop 20 points in his sleep. For a team that will be missing a bonafide superstar in Kevin Durant, Anthony can make up for his scoring and also be a fan favorite who will fill seats in Brooklyn every night.
Anthony hah some of his best years in New York, with the Knicks, and this might be his shot to prove why all the teams were wrong to pass upon his incredible offensive talent.
