Philadelphia 76ers star Jaylen Brown has had quite the whirlwind of an offseason, and he added another chapter to it during his trip to Egypt. Everyone has fears in their lives that they need to overcome, and Brown boldly attempted to get rid of one.
Brown is afraid of heights and took a literal leap of faith in Egypt. The 29-year-old went skydiving near the pyramids and couldn’t quite believe what he had just done after landing.

Brown was praying before he dived, but appeared to have composed himself mid-air. The five-time All-Star was hilariously playing rock, paper, scissors with one of the other divers.
This was quite a bold decision for someone afraid of heights, and Brown hilariously commented on the video that his mother cannot find out about this.
“God is the greatest,” Brown wrote. “Don’t tell my mom I did this btw.”
Brown’s mother might have her heart in her mouth if she watched this clip. That probably applies to 76ers fans as well.
We hadn’t seen anything like this from Brown in years past. He is seemingly off trying new things as he begins a new chapter in life.
Brown had spent the first 10 seasons of his professional career with the Boston Celtics, who selected him with the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He would gradually become one of the Celtics’ pillars and led the team to the NBA championship in 2024.
Brown was named Finals MVP as well, and a year later, he would begin the best season of his career. He averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game for the Celtics in 2025-26, and finished sixth in MVP voting.
Now, a season like that usually results in a team making the player untouchable, but that wasn’t the case here. The Celtics were open to moving Brown and stunningly traded him to the 76ers for just Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks. To say the return was underwhelming would be an understatement, and that is a trade the fanbase isn’t going to get over for a very long time.
Brown will now look to win his second NBA championship with the 76ers. It was long believed he’d be their only major acquisition this summer, but they surprisingly managed to sign LeBron James in free agency, too.
Brown and James have now teamed up with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe. The 76ers might have the best starting lineup in the NBA and have their eyes firmly set on the ultimate prize.
